Mutua is a wonderful 20 year old orphan who has successfully completed secondary school having achieved a constant D. Congratulations Mutua.
Life was not easy for Mutua. It took him a total of 4 hours to walk to and from school. This happened because the local school was closed down. His aunt was looking after his school fees and then she ran into financial difficulties and could no longer support him. In Kenya, if school fees are not paid the children are sent home from school and this happened to him. We took over, bought him a bicycle, provided him with food and sent him back to school.
Mutua is now going to attend Mulamgo Youth Polytechnic this week and study to be an electrician. This is a residential school and his training will take two years. If he is successful with his exams he will get a certificate from The Kenyan Industrial Authority and this will empower him to become employed or become self-employed. This young boy is so delighted with his good fortune, he now has a future to look forward to and be educated.
The cost of educating Mutua for two years will amount to €900 and if you can spare some money towards his education you can do so through iDonate on our website.
Let us please wish Mutua the very best in his new school and a bright future outside the poverty trap.
